about the Observatory on Taxpayers’ Rights
01 September 2020 | Noon EDT | 17:00 BST | 18:00 CEST
Join Nina Olson, Executive Director of the Center for Taxpayer Rights, for the inaugual session of Tax Chat!, the Center’s online series of conversations about taxpayer rights and tax administration. Nina will be joined by Professor Pasquale Pistone and Philip Baker, QC, the co-directors of the Observatory on Taxpayers’ Rights, to discuss the Observatory’s most recent General and National Reports.
The Observatory on the Protection of Taxpayers’ Rights, a project of the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, “operates as a neutral, non-judgmental platform for monitoring developments concerning the effective protection of taxpayers’ fundamental rights in the world.”
The OPTR identifies principles, minimum standards, and best practices in the field, and has a cadre of reporters from different countries who annually evaluate developments, progress, or regression with respect to these principles and practices. The OPTR publishes annual General and National reports, presenting these updates and summarizing trends.
This promises to be an engaging conversation. It will be conducted over Zoom. To view the 2019 OPTR General and National reports, click here.
Registration is free of charge; however, attendees must be registered in order to receive the Zoom link.
