The 10th International Conference on Taxpayer Rights, convened by the Center for Taxpayer Rights and hosted by the Harvard Federal Tax Clinic and Harvard Law School, will be held in-person in Washington DC and online from June 4 through 6, 2025. Events include a free workshop on The Role of Tax Clinics and Taxpayer Advocates/Ombuds in Promoting Trust and Protecting the Rule of Law on 04 June 2025, followed by two days of panel discussions from 05 to 06 June 2025, an opening reception on the evening of 04 June and a dinner on the evening of 05 June.
Please note that all times for conference sessions shown on the agenda are Eastern Daylight Time. Please check your own time zones here.
Because the time zone may make it difficult for some virtual attendees to see some of the sessions in real time, we plan to send out a link to the “raw” recording of each days’ session to registered attendees at the close of each day. That way virtual attendees can catch up on any live sessions they may have missed, before the next day’s panels.
Questions about the Conference? Contact the Center for Taxpayer Rights at Conference@taxpayer-rights.org.
Panel Topics Include:
- Trust, taxpayer rights, human rights and human dignity;
- Trust, taxpayer rights, and the rule of law;
- Trust, taxpayer rights, and equal treatment of taxpayers: international treaties and domestic law;
- Trust in the age of digital tax administration;
- Losing trust: broken promises;
- Regaining and maintaining trust: How to operationalize trust;
- Participation, transparency, trust and the rule of law;
- Current developments and update on the IBFD Observatory on the Protection of Taxpayer Rights; and
- Free workshop on the role of Tax Clinics and Taxpayer Ombuds/Advocates in promoting trust and protecting the rule of law.
Conference Venue:
We are thilled to announce that each day’s sessions will be held at the Textile Museum at George Washington University. The conference reception/dinner will be held on the evening of June 5 at the the National Museum of the American Indian, part of the Smithsonian Museum on the Mall.
